The Hance Scarborough Law Firm is pleased to announce Stan Gerdes has joined the firm’s Austin and Washington, D.C. offices as a Federal Energy Policy Advisor. Stan worked with Governor Perry for over a decade, beginning in Governor Perry’s Office and concluding with Governor Perry’s service as the United States’ Secretary of Energy. Stan worked closely with Secretary Perry as they championed productive and progressive energy policies achieving U.S. energy independence for the first time in nearly 60 years.
Hance Scarborough’s members former Congressmen and Texas Tech Chancellor Kent R. Hance, and former Congressmen Jim Turner and Pete Olson, have all welcomed Mr. Gerdes’ advice and counsel regarding federal energy and critical infrastructure matters and initiatives. Former Chancellor Kent R. Hance said “Stan is not only a competent and accomplished leader and confidant, but has the greatest confidence of me and my longtime friend, Secretary Rick Perry. Hance Scarborough is better positioned to serve its clients with Stan on board.”
“I have been blessed to be able to work closely with some of the longtime leaders and legends of Texas politics,” said Mr. Gerdes. “As I take my own role in the Texas House, I acknowledge that I stand on the shoulders of giants. My work with the leadership at Hance Scarborough continues my efforts to effect real change and positively impact our state and clients’ interests in making our great nation stronger and safer as a leader in energy independence.”
As a freshman House member, Representative Gerdes was deservedly appointed to the Energy Council, a national energy policy organization. Hance Scarborough’s legal and government relations teams and clients are greatly enhanced by Stan’s leadership, knowledge and experience regarding both state and federal energy and critical infrastructure policies, issues, and energy-related existing and prospective legislative and agency directives and initiatives.
