Austin, Texas—Today, Hance Scarborough LLP proudly announces the upcoming addition of capitol veteran Louie Sanchez to their robust government affairs team.
Louie Sanchez joins the firm as a Legislative Consultant. Sanchez comes with 14 years of experience in the Texas Capitol having served, since 2011, as Chief of Staff to Senator Eddie Lucio, Jr. (D-Brownsville), Vice-Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and third in seniority in the Texas Senate.
“Hance Scarborough already offers over 100 years of collective legal and government affairs experience and we are excited to add Louie Sanchez to our team,” said founding partner Kent Hance. “Louie’s experience and deep relationships in the capitol will be a great addition to our strong and diverse government affairs team.”
Senator Eddie Lucio expressed congratulations to Sanchez and to his new colleagues. “I have tremendous respect for the professionals at Hance Scarborough, and I’m so impressed Louie is joining their ranks. In my 34 years as a legislator I’ve been served by several chiefs of staff. Louie elevated the standard, bringing distinction to himself and to my office. I am immensely proud to have had a role in his career development. His knowledge, dedication, leadership, and statesmanship only add value to the already incredible office he joins.”
A 12th generation Texan, Sanchez is a native of the Rio Grande Valley raised in San Antonio. In addition to his professional responsibilities, he is longtime volunteer of the American Diabetes Association. He currently serves as Chairman of the Legislative & Regulatory Subcommittee, made up of volunteer professionals from across the nation, which writes all federal and state public policy priorities for the organization. In 2021, he will serve as Co-Chair of the association’s National Advocacy Committee.
